1. Remove power to the bill acceptor.
2. Unplug the machine harness from the bill acceptor logic board.
3. Remove the strain relief retaining screw and slide the logic board
out of the logic board cover.
4. Using chip extractor (CA#923987), gently remove the square microprocessor
chip from its socket by placing the straight end of the extractor under
one corner of the chip and prying up. Next, pry the opposite corner up
in the same fashion.
5. With the old chip removed, gently press the RLA assembly into the
logic board socket.
Note: One side of the brown RLA socket has its corner rounded
off, this matches up with rounded corner on the logic board socket. Failure to plug
RLA in correctly will result in permanent damage to the RLA assembly.
6. Once the RLA assembly is pressed in place, snap the RLA retaining
boot over the RLA assembly.
7. Slide the logic board into the logic board cover and install the
strain relief and screw removed in step 3.
8. Apply power to the bill acceptor.
Note: For BA30SA and BA32SA units, do NOT connect any harnessing
to the 18 connector on the 407449 board at this time!
9. Insert one sheet of Coinco tuning script (CA#921623) into the dollar
bill acceptor. The tuning script will be pulled in (like a dollar bill),
then rejected.
Note: You only get one chance to calibrate the unit when power
is first applied. If something goes wrong, the bill acceptor will have to be calibrated
at your nearest Coinco branch office.
10. Turn power off.
